Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in guava nectar and remaining ingredients. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until mixture is slightly thickened.

Would love to try this recipe BUT, I've taken a moratorium on any recipe that calls for a "small, medium or large" vegetable of any type but especially onions. Depending on the variety of yellow onion, a chopped small yellow onion can be anywhere from barely a 1/4 cup to nearly a cup. That can make a big difference to a recipe. I can go to any grocery store in my area and find 3-5 different varieties of yellow onions in a disparate variety of sizes
