  • 4 medium avocados, peeled and mashed
  • 1/4 cup plus 1/2 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 3 small cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 to 5 drops hot sauce (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Pomegranate seeds (optional)


  1. Combine avocados, juice, onion, garlic, tomatoes, and oil in a large bowl; mix well. Stir in hot sauce, if desired. Cover and chill thoroughly. Serve on lettuce leaves. Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
