Guacamole With Pomegranate Seeds

4 medium avocados, peeled and mashed
1/4 cup plus 1/2 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
1 large onion, minced
3 small cloves garlic, crushed
2 medium tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
4 to 5 drops hot sauce (optional)
Lettuce leaves
Pomegranate seeds (optional)


Combine avocados, juice, onion, garlic, tomatoes, and oil in a large bowl; mix well. Stir in hot sauce, if desired. Cover and chill thoroughly. Serve on lettuce leaves. Sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.
