Big hit with kids. I let them assemble the sandwiches. They were amazed that chocolate chips were included. The sandwiches came out a bit gooey (used a fork and knife to eat) but the kids loved them. I used raspberry reserves instead of pineapple jam.

Five stars for kids. My 15 month old went nuts over this and devoured half a sandwich. I found it to give me a stomach ache after three bites and a sugar overload. It was very sweet. I didn't have the pineapple jam so that was omitted. This would be good as a quick dessert though. I'm willing to try it again just with a few modifications. No butter and honey and maybe toasting the bread instead. Interesting none the less.

MESSY... the strawberries and bananas fell out and the melted chocolate and peanut butter oozed all over my hands... it's a sandwich that probably should be eaten with a fork. Actually, I think I'd rather eat it on ice cream and forget the bread. I'm disagreeing with CL on giving it the highest rating. It was ok. Probably won't make it again.

This sandwich is a good idea, although I thought it was a bit messy. I tried making it again with my own twist. I try not to use butter if i can, so i toasted whole wheat bread in the toaster instead of grilling in a pan. After that i spread the peanut butter out from the middle, leaving some room on the edges of the bread so the melted peanut butter wouldn't spill out. Toasting the bread first instead of grilling saved me from cleaning a big mess and kept the fruit cool. That way seemed ALOT easier.

It's different. I can see how some people love it, but there's too many ooey gooey flavors for me. One of my kids said "it taste weird" and would not eat it. The other one enjoyed it, but he'll eat anything. I'm also wondering why this was in Cooking Light. What is light about this? Worth a shot if you think you'll like it.

DELICIOUS! Be careful with the side with the pineapple jam as it can get a bit wet/melty on that side of the sandwich when heated up... but still absolutely amazing.

This sandwich is delicious! It is also much more filling and satisfying than an ordinary PB&J. I think any kid would be lucky to bring one of these to school.

This tastes great with any kind of jam (but is less banana split-like). It is now a Christmas holiday tradition with my son & I (who tells me he has made it for his friends before). A little sloppy, but yummy!

Although I wouldn't eat this every day, it's a nice departure from the traditional "pb&b" that makes for an indulgent lunch. I've never had pineapple preserves on hand but I've used raspberry and strawberry jam with fine results. Of course it's gooey, but part of the fun is licking one's fingers; and I make sure I have a napkin close at hand before I start. I've made this several times and will be making it for a long time.
