Bleh!! This recipe was horrible. The flavor combinations of the spices did not work at all with the fish. The spices charred more than I would have cared for. Ultimately we took one bite and sadly threw the rest in the trash. So unfortunate for such a wonderful piece of fish! There are soooo many better CL recipes out there involving salmon, i wouldn't waste my time or effort with this one again.

This is my "go to" recipe for grilled salmon in a flash. Like a previous post, I keep this rub on hand for a quick dinner. I have served this to guests and it was a big hit.

My 3rd or 4th time to make this recipe, was actually planning on making it tom. night for a couple we were having over, we checked the menu with them before I went to the store and the wife ended up not being a Salmon fan. I bought it and made it tonight for us because I had been thinking about it all day! She would like salmon if she tried this recipe.

I didn't have any allspice so I used cinammon instead, which we thought was a great addition to the flavors. Will definitely make it again soon - very easy for a quick weeknight dinner!

Might as well add my praise to this recipe. This is one of the best rubs I've ever used on grilled salmon. When you factor in how simple this is, and how great it tastes, this easily ranks as one of my all-time favorite recipes for the grill. As has been mentioned, one of the real keys to the success of this recipe is how well the slight smokiness of grilling pairs with the rub. I usually make a decent-sized batch of the rub in the summer so I can whip this dish up on a moment's notice should a lovely spring or summer evening demand that I do some grilling. I cook it skin-side down, covered, for twelve minutes over medium heat (approx. 5 second hand test over the grill).

This was good, but didn't taste like pastrami to me. I served it with grilled asparagus and rice pilaf.

Living in the Northwest, we get really good salmon much of the year. So I'm always up for trying new recipes to use with my fish. Unfortunately, this recipe totally destroyed a really good piece of fresh coho I brought home for dinner. The rub overpowers the fish. Will not make again.

I absolutely loved this recipe and so did the guests I made it for, it was super easy and flavorful. I will definitely make this one again.

wow. really surprised by the previous 2 reviews because this was really tasty. salty and sweet with the brown sugar. i covered it only lightly with the spice rub, not as intense as shown in the picture, and cooked on the grill. was really good and i think it will also be good as left over cold over a salad. worth a try. doesn't "ruin" fish as previously stated (unless maybe they applied too thick).

Adding my voice to the choir of fans for this dish. Nice complex flavor (but important to apply the rub lightly) and so easy! I paired it with a chicken broth and onion rice pilaf and it made a terrific midweek dish.

My wife and I both liked this but if I made it again I would use less of the spice mixture, it was a little heavy.

This is an all-time favorite grilled salmon recipe. The flavors pair well with any side dishes and it's simple to make. Served with Chipotle Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli with Dijon Vinaigrette.

I've made this for dozens of folks over the years and it always gets rave reviews.

Great recipe. My fiance loved it! I didn't care as much for the spice mixture. I do want to try this with some pork or chicken, though. Served with a nice garden salad.

Very tasty! I didn't think the spice was overpowering at all. Though I made a half recipe and rubbed some of it on two salmon fillets. It was sweet and nicely spiced. Will keep this recipe on hand for later use.
