- Melt 2 tablespoons butter or margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat; add 2 tablespoons flour, stirring until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Add 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles, 1/2 cup ketchup, and 1/2 cup water; cook, stirring often, 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
