Great Northern Bean Soup

    I love soup and i love white beans, so naturally i thought i was going to love this soup. What a disappointment. This soup was too watery and had little flavor. There was too much oregano. There are so many good bean soups out there...skip this one.

    A great soup, made it this weekend and my hubby Loved it. I'm not a big soup eater, but it was so good I took some to work today for lunch.

    i love beans & this was a great recipe with these tweeks, did not have oregano so used 1/2 as such italian seasoning. we do not drink so I did not have beer. I did not have celery so left it out. after combining & simmering for 2 hours I thought this was too soupy for our tastes. I added instant potatoes to thicken to desired consistancy. along with the fried potatoes this came out a very hearty warming dish & he enjoyed every bite thanks so much.

    I made this soup with left over baked ham. Added a little of the "ham fat" juice, omitted the celery and used celery salt. No beer, cilantro or oregano. (put chili powder on the side in case someone wanted some) added 1.5 cans of chicken broth and only one tsp.of the worcestershire. It was really good!! If it is too "watery" try adding some more broth.
