Grandma's Chew Bread

Ingredients

1 (16-ounce) package light brown sugar
4 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Combine sugar and eggs in a heavy saucepan, stirring well; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients, stirring mixture well.

Spoon mixture into a greased and floured 15- x 10- x 1-inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool, and cut into squares.
