Grand Old Fashioned

Ingredients

• 2 chopped strawberries
• 1 (2-inch) orange rind strip
• 2 teaspoons Demerara sugar
• 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
• Ice cubes
• 3 tablespoons bourbon
• Seltzer water, chilled

Preparation

1. Muddle strawberries, orange rind strip, Demerara sugar, and Peychaud's bitters against sides of an old-fashioned glass. Fill with ice, and add bourbon; stir until blended. Top with a conservative splash of chilled seltzer water.
