Hands-on time 10 mins
Total time 10 mins

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 (32-oz.) package powdered sugar
  • 5 to 7 tablespoons milk
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

How to Make It

  1. Beat butter and salt at medium speed with a heavy-duty electric stand mixer until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar alternately with 4 Tbsp. milk, beating at low speed until blended and smooth after each addition. Stir in orange liqueur and vanilla. Beat in remaining milk, a few teaspoons at a time, until frosting reaches desired consistency.
