- 2 cups self-rising cornmeal
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Vegetable oil
How to Make It
Combine cornmeal and onion in a medium mixing bowl. Add milk and egg, stirring well.
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into deep hot oil (375°), cooking only a few at a time. Cook 2 minutes; turn and cook an additional 2 minutes or until hush puppies are golden brown. Drain well on paper towels. Serve hot.
