Glossy Chocolate Frosting

Yield enough for one (10- inch) tube cake


  • 3 (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

How to Make It

  1. Melt chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler over hot water. Remove from heat, and add sugar; beat well. Add water and flavorings; beat until smooth (mixture will be slightly thin).
