Yield Makes 20 cookies

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, melted

  • 1/2 cup sugar

How to Make It

  2. Divide dough into 20 (2-inch) balls. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets; flatten each ball to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush tops with 1 to 2 tablespoons water, and sprinkle evenly with 1/2 cup sugar.

  3. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
