Had some at the farmer's market on the east side and decided to try to make it myself. I used a few less lemons and utilized the zest from them all by putting them into the boiling sugar/water/ginger mixture. There's also a quicker recipe using prepared lemonade. Next is basil lemonade...
Ginger Lemonade
Spice up your favorite lemondade thirst quencher by adding fresh ginger to the mix. This recipe can easily be doubled.
Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1 cup)

Ingredients
- 6 cups water, divided
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup grated peeled fresh ginger
- 1 1/4 cups fresh lemon juice (about 7 large lemons)
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- Lemon slices (optional)
- Lime slices (optional)
Preparation
- Combine 1 cup water, sugar, and ginger in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, and cook 1 minute or until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; cool.
- Strain ginger mixture through a sieve into a pitcher, and discard solids. Add 5 cups water and juices, and stir well. Serve over ice, and garnish with lemon and lime slices, if desired.
