just wondering what kind of syrup you are talking about when you say "chilled syrup"? I am thinking it would be better if I could include that part but I don't know what kind.

In answer to the syrup question - Combine 1/2 cup each water and sugar, zest of 1 orange, 6 cloves and 1 cinnamon stick; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; let stand for 5 minutes. Strain and chill.
