Ingredients
- 1 quart(s) milk
- 2 envelope(s) yeast
- 1/4 cup(s) warm water
- 1 teaspoon(s) sugar
- 3 eggs plus 1 yolk
- 4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1 cup(s) sugar
- 1 cup(s) Butter Crisco
- 12-15 cup(s) Better for Bread Flour
- 2 tablespoon(s) water
Preparation
- Heat milk to a boil set aside and cool
- Combine yeast with warm water and sugar in small bowl- let dissolve
- Beat until creamy:
- eggs plus yolk, salt,sugar,crisco
- Add yeast, mix well
- Add 2 tablespoons water
- Add 12-15 cups flour (depending on texture of dough-don't let dough get to hard) Alternate flour with milk
- Let raise twice in a warm place
- Form into med balls and place in a greased pan(9X14 or round cake pans) and let raise until double in size
- Bake at 350 for 15 min.
- Makes about 4 doz, depending on size of balls made
