Garlicky Black Beans

Makes 8 servings


  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2/3 cup unsalted chicken stock
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed

How to Make It

  1. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add minced garlic, and cook 1 minute, stirring frequently. Stir in cumin and oregano; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add chicken stock, salt, and beans, drained and rinsed. Bring to a simmer; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
