Garlic-Lover's Pasta

Yield 4 servings (serving size: 1 cup pasta, 1/2 cup sauce, and 1 tablespoon cheese)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 (28-ounce) can Italian-style tomatoes, undrained and coarsely chopped
  • 4 cups hot cooked linguine (about 8 ounces uncooked pasta)
  • 1/4 cup (1 ounce) grated fresh Parmesan cheese

How to Make It

  1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; sauté 1 minute. Add basil, salt, peppers, and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken. Serve over pasta; top with cheese.
