Get back to basics with this five-ingredient grilled flank steak recipe. If you've got olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper on hand, you're ready to get started. Serve with grilled summer squash and rice to round out the meal.
1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
3 garlic cloves, pressed
2 pounds flank steak
How to Make It
Stir together first 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Rub mixture evenly over flank steak; place steak in a shallow dish. Cover and chill 3 hours.
Grill steak, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°) 8 to 10 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Cut steak diagonally across the grain into thin strips.
This was a good recipe that just needed to be grilled for a little less time. We did 8 minutes on each side but will try for 6 next time. I marinated it overnight as I had a hectic day the night we planned on grilling it and the flavor turned out excellent. Will do again but will grill for a shorter time.
This is delicious! I was worried when I put it together that it was going to be too simple and not as flavorful as I'd like. But my husband, son and I could not get enough! It had such a yummy flavor, and we vowed to make it again and again.
