Fruit-and-Nut Sliders

Photo: Iain Bagwell; Styling: Heather Chadduck
Yield
Melt-in-your-mouth Fruit-and-Nut Sliders hit the spot for easy dining. These bite-size sandwiches feature sharp white Cheddar, apple slices, and pecans.

Ingredients

  • Sharp white Cheddar
  • Golden Delicious apples, thinly sliced
  • Toasted pecans
  • Slider buns or dinner rolls
  • Honey mustard
  • Butter, softened

How to Make It

  1. Place Cheddar, apple slices, and toasted pecans on slider buns or dinner rolls spread with honey mustard. Spread outside of sandwiches with butter. Cook in a pre-heated panini press 2 to 3 minutes or until golden.

  2. Wine Suggestion: "A good cool-climate Chardonnay would be great with this one, but I would encourage giving white Rhône a try. Rich and exotic, these wines possess wonderful food affinity and crowd-pleasing versatility. Try La Vieille Ferme from the Luberon ($8), Côtes du Rhône Blanc from Famille Perrin ($11), or E. Guigal ($14)." --Richard Robinson, Wine Director, The Wine Shop at Western Supermarket, Mountain Brook, Alabama
