  • 3/4 cup(s) sugar
  • 4 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 3 pint(s) strawberries
  • 3 drop(s) red food coloring
  • 1 pie crust
  • Sweetened whipped cream

  1. Combine sugar cornstarch and salt in saucepan; stir in 1 1/2 cups water. Crush 15 strawberries add to sugar mixture. Cook over low heat until glaze is thick and clear, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in food coloring. Pour hot glaze over strawberries; turn strawberries are fully to coat evenly. Pour into Pie Crust; refrigerate until ready to serve. Spread pie with whipped cream; garnish each serving with sugar-coated strawberry, if desired.
  2. (I usually cut strawberries in slices or quarter them, they fit into the pie pan better, and they are easier to eat.)
