Cake was drier than shortbread. I was adventurous and made this for the first time to serve to 15 people I was hosting for dinner. I was beyond mortified it was one step above pressed saw-dust. The frosting and fresh berries were good.. both of which were a nice touch. I highly recommend -- substitute a different cake recipe, follow the frosting and decorative ideas of this recipe only.
