How to Make It

Step 1

Combine milk, eggs, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl, beating well.

Step 2

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet; dip 2 bread slices, one at a time, into egg mixture, coating well. Drain; arrange in skillet, and cook over medium heat 4 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Remove to a serving platter; keep warm. Repeat with remaining bread slices, adding butter to skillet as needed. Serve warm with syrup.
