French Silk Chocolate Pie

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 baked (9-inch) pastry shell
  • Shaved chocolate (optional)
  • Chocolate leaves (optional)


  1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add chocolate and vanilla; beat 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 5 minutes after each addition. Spoon filling into pastry shell. Chill at least 5 hours or until firm. Garnish with shaved chocolate and chocolate leaves, if desired.
