Fool-Proof Pie Crust

Fool-Proof Pie Crust

My mom gave me this recipe as a teen-ager. I've tried other, more difficult recipes, but in a taste test my family chooses this simple crust!

  • Yield: 2 servings ( Serving Size: 2 double crust 9" pies )

Ingredients

  • 6 cup(s) Flour
  • 1 cup(s) Warm water
  • 2 cup(s) Oil (I use regular Crisco. Canola doesn't work for this.)
  • 1/4 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Salt

Preparation

Mix together the dry ingredients, then add the water and oil. Mix. Divide into 4 balls. Voila - You are ready to roll!

Have fun decorating the top crust. I like cutting pretty venting patterns, or putting cut out shapes with extra pie crust, brushing with milk and sprinkling with sugar and/or sprinkles, or even using my little black birds (a gift from my wonderful sister)!
