2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 large apple, 2 carrots, and 4 oz French bread, cut in bite-size pieces

How to Make It
Prep time: 10 minutes Cooking time: About 5 minutes
Rub inside of a small saucepan with garlic; leave clove in pan. Add wine and lemon juice and place over medium heat.
Toss cheese with cornstarch in a small bowl. Just as the wine mixture reaches a boil, slowly add cheese to pot, stirring constantly until cheese is melted and smooth. Continue stirring another minute, or until thickened slightly. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with apple, carrots, and bread.
Kid-friendly version: Double the recipe and use apple juice instead of wine. Do the dipping for kids under 3; supervise older ones.
How kids can help: Grate cheese; toss cheese with cornstarch.
