This was terrible. It used 3 times the amount of oil, and the burgers fell apart while they cooked. They were not crunchy at all. The sauce was so tasteless. I will never make this recipe again, the worst!!!

Pretty much one of the worst falafel recipes I've tried- for me it was not near crispy enough (I think the falafel mixture was just too wet) and also, the spices were just bland. Really, really bland.

Great flavor, but really fell apart

My husband and I really loved this. The falafels had tasted great, and because they were flattened before cooking, they were crunchy. We did make some substitutions. We used angel hair cabbage instead of romaine. We are not raw tomato lovers, so we substituted mushrooms. We will definitely make this again!

I really enjoyed these falafels. My mixture was actually pretty dry- as opposed to the wet remarked on previously. I struggled with trying to get the mixture smooth enough in my blender AND mini food processor and then finally mashed out the remaining lumps with a fork. Otherwise, the recipe was easy and the patties turned out great!

I followed the recipe pretty closely and had no problem with making the falafels, just found them to be a bit bland. But that could be the reason my kids were willing to eat them - sauce and all. I'm going to keep looking for a falafel with more prounounced spices.

I agree with previous posters that the falafels fell apart way too easily, and were not crunchy. Also I had more mix than 4, 1/3 cup patties. Luckily after my first pan of patties that fell apart, I switched to using teaspoons to make blini size falafels which held together much better. As for the falafels not being flavorful, check when you bought the cumin and paprika, they might need to be replaced.

This is one of my go to make-ahead lunches. I fry up the falafel on Sunday and have falafel pitas for the week. It is so easy and delicious, but I add a spicy harissa sauce on top of everything for some heat.
