Other than the green beans, you probaby already have all the ingredients needed to make this easy and flavorful summer side.
1 qt. water
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 pound fresh green beans
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Additional olive oil and fresh lemon juice (optional)
How to Make It
Bring water, salt, pepper, and sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add green beans; cover and reduce heat to medium. Cook 10 minutes or to desired degree of doneness. Drain beans, and drizzle with 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil and 1/2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice. Add more olive oil and lemon juice, if desired.
