My husband and one of my sons asked for more. My very picky 7 year old even kept eating at it for a while. Will definitely make again. Added 4/19/11 I have made this many times now. Easy to make and the whole family still likes it.

Family favorite. We make it often. I cut back on the chile powder b/c I have small children. I also reduce the cheese to 1 cup (healthier, and we don't miss it). Great weekday meal.

3 chilldren under 10 ate with not one complaint!! Even my daughter who hates beans. Husband had multiple helpings. Would recommend it to be made on a busy night. I did use homemade salsa.

Love this recipe - omitted the beans & cheese & I let it simmer for 30 mins. - very good

I personally prefer this meat mixture in a burrito or over tortilla chips for some righteous nachos, but not for tacos. The texture just doesn't work in a taco shell for me. With that said, will definitely use again in burritos and nachos.

I made this tonight with a side of rice similar to Chipotle's rice. It was very good. My husband really liked it. I added chopped green chiles which really added to the taste. This will be a regular in the house.

I grew up near the border and always LOVED good Mexican food, including tacos. I've had the hardest time finding a recipe that reminds me of the wonderful tacos I could get near home...until I found this one. The flavor, the texture...everything tastes as it should, as far as I'm concerned. I often elect to make this recipe for Mexican lasagna, using this instead of canned refried beans. Wonderful!

This is a great recipe and very versatile. I usually use boneless chicken breasts cut into small pieces instead of the beef and beans. I sometimes use only the ground beef, and when my vegetarian granddaughter visits I make it with only the beans. This is handy for many variations. If you want to prepare a glutton free meal, you can serve it over crushed corn chips and lettuce.
