I should have believed the negative reviews. I followed the recipe exactly and the result was rubbery and tasteless squares. Disappointing recipe.

This was just o.k.. I was looking for something a littler creamier. The lemon was a little gelatinous. I found a recipe in Kraft that calls for the use of cream cheese, I may try that one.

I was looking for a recipe to use some of the lemons from our potted lemon tree. I'm not a fan of lemon bars, but my husband is. I made this for him, and guess what, even I liked it. The lemon taste is light and not overly tart. It is super easy to make. My husband does not like desserts that are too sweet, so this was just perfect for him. He loves it when we have extra lemons on the tree.

Come on people...these are perfect!!! They remind me of my childhood and those muggy southern summer afternoons spent by my neighbor's pool. They are smooth and sweet and tangy finishing with an unexpected crunch. The combination of textures is addictive if the flavor isn't already enough to hook you. I finished them with a light dusting of powdered sugar. Next time I will use a doily as a stencil before I powder them up for added elegance. I did add one extra tablespoon of butter to the crust mixture and I baked the final product for 23 minutes.

I love lemons. This recipe reminded me of my mother's famous lemon meringue pie.

the crust came out too dry and it burnt. I wanted them a little fluffy so i took them out a little early. The taste was good but i'd change the crust for something else. I'm not too sure if ill make these again...3 eggs is quite a lot.

Don;t know how you couldn;t have loved these. They were perfect. I did add a tablespoon of butter to the crust as it didn't look crumbly enough, maybe that is what made the difference.

These are AMAZING! They're absolutely delectable! I can't believe anyone would give them anything less than 5 stars. My family can't stop eating them. I also made them for a PTA luncheon and people raved and wanted the recipe. I may have added a smidge more lemon rind than called for. I wasn't sure how loosely or tightly packed my measured teaspoons of grated lemon rind should be, so I may have added a bit extra the first time I made them, but they were sooooo good I keep doing it that way. For those who said theirs were gelatinous: You are probably undercooking your batch. Generally, I will bake cookies or brownies the minimum amount of time called for in a recipe because I like them moist and chewy, but these cooked the full amount of time. Delicious! Just what a lemon square should be!

these did not work out for me, despite following the directions exactly. i agree with other reviewers that the filling was too gelatin-y. maybe adding another T of butter would have helped the crust, but i'll stick with the classic recipes for this one!

I love these! I make them all the time for potluck gatherings and they're always a hit. Extremely easy to put together.

Really puzzled by the wild range of reviews for this recipe. Made these yesterday and thought they were GREAT! I didn't adjust or alter the recipe in any way. I thought they were just the right amount of sweetness and tartness and the recipe really was EASY. Will definitely make again.

I don't know what problems these "nay-sayers" had with this recipe, but I tried it this morning, and it turned out wonderfully well, and they will now become a permanent part of my culinary repertoire!! For those who had issues, you might want to check your oven temp.
