This was a great surprise. The combination of the turnips and potatoes worked well, and the broth and cheese combined to add an almost buttery texture - without butter. I didn't alter any ingredients, but saw that I had to drain the broth off before I added the cheese. I then continued cooking the dish in the oven without broiling - and the cheese browned nicely. I served this with some fish and salad; and will definitely make this again and again.

Meh. This dish did nothing for me. The yield is low, and it's not very flavorful. I'd rather do something else with my potatoes and turnips :)

Although I forgot to measure the stock and ended up with a more liquid-y gratin than I'd anticipated, the flavors were still really yummy. So I think this is a really nice, go-to recipe.
