Dressed Asparagus

Yield 8 servings


  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons celery seeds
  • 3 (15-ounce) cans white asparagus spears

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients, except asparagus, in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; cool slightly.

  2. Arrange asparagus in a shallow dish; pour marinade over asparagus. Cover and chill several hours. Drain; discard marinade.
