The cupcakes were delicious. Very moist (as long as you dont leave them sitting out too long). I didnt even add all the syrup and they were still Very sweet. I cant imagine it with more. I might add even less syrup next time and more extract. They dont taste 'mapley' but its a nice sweetness with depth that you couldn't get from just plain sugar.

I agree with another reviewer - the icing was sweet (which I LOVE) but the cupcakes were dry - a disappointment because I think there is a shortage of maple recipes on MyRecipes.com and I'd love to find some good ones. But I'm not giving up on these cupcakes - I'm going to try them again and sub in some sour cream to try to boost the moistness. If I can get a good moist crumb these cupcakes would definitely be 5-star!

Delicious. One of these cupcakes will master any sweettooth. Icing is fudgey, and the maple flavour is nice and strong. I was surprised by the thickness of the batter, but they turned out great. I've made this recipe twice now, but I can't seem to get more than 6 cupcakes out of it!(There's only 1.25c of flour after all.) I really need to double it. ;)

I made these cupcakes this week and they were fantastic. Lovely maple flavor, not dry, plenty of frosting. I used one of my cookie scoops and got 12 cupcakes. We are now empty-nesters, so I put some in the freezer, already frosted. 20 seconds in the microwave and they are a fantastic evening treat.

The icing was fantastic but the cupcake itself left me wanting more maple flavour.
