  • Yield: 16 brownies (serving size: 1 brownie)

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Dutch process cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate morsels

Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl; beat at medium speed of a mixer until well-blended. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; stir well. Add to sugar mixture; beat just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour mixture into a 9-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven, and sprinkle with the chocolate morsels. Let stand 3 minutes or until morsels soften; spread softened morsels over brownies, using a knife or metal spatula. Let cool on a wire rack.
