Made this, I thought YUMMY, my husband said it was a 'lady dessert'.... I think he's right! Dump the bourbon, add flavoring extract of choice & serve at a ladies evening. My husand would rather have something substantial, a 2-layer cake or assorted bakery...but that's him. Maybe a re-make of this recipe would help...just my suggestion!

I haven't tried this recipe, but rated it with 5 stars. I think the one single rating of one star seems totally unfair... and hence gave it 5 stars to negate that one rating. The 'rater' said that she liked it. Why give it one measly start because her husband said it was 'a lady cake'. What the heck is a lady cake anyway? Stand up for yourself woman! Your opinion counts. At this point I give YOU one star.

I agree with Bruce about this not being a "lady dessert." What kind of bourbon did you use? Apparently, it wasn't Kentucky Bourbon. You could always decrease the milk and increase the bourbon, if our husband needs his dessert stronger. lol ;+) BTW: The cake is wonderful, made many times and never a bite left. This Kygirl is giving this recipe 5 stars!

Good grief momshome. A lady dessert? You said you thought the cake was "yummy" yet you rated with only one star. Does your opinion not count? Maybe you should remake the cake for your husband using beer...have him eat the whole thing and belch all night. That might make it a man dessert.
