Crunchy Apple-Pear Salad

Yield: Serves 6


  • Salad:
  • 2 apples, cored and diced
  • 2 pears, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 heads butter lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • Dressing:
  • 1 cup oil
  • 6 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper


  1. Toss apples and pears with lemon juice; drain. Arrange lettuce on 6 salad plates; top with apples, pears and Gorgonzola cheese. Drizzle salads with Dressing; sprinkle with walnuts. Serve immediately.
