Yum!! Made these last night for a small Holiday gathering and they were so good! Prepared the fig jam the night before, and assembled the crostini just before the party. It did take quite a bit longer than stated to thicken the jam than the recipe stated. I also toasted the bread once I had the cheese on it and then layered the other ingredients on top.

Have made these several times for dinner parties. Easy and delicious. Have never bothered to make the jam - I always use a fig jam I've found at Whole Foods. This is one of my favorite appetizers!

This is a delicious and easy appetizer. The only change I made was to add the grated zest of one orange and sbout 3/8 tsp. of freshly ground fennel seed to the fig jam. Yum!
