- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 cup buttermilk
How to Make It
Combine first 3 ingredients in a mixing bowl; set aside.
Combine oil, corn syrup, and buttermilk; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients.
Place a well-greased cast-iron corn stick pan in 400° oven for 3 minutes or until a drop of water sizzles when dropped on pan. Remove pan from oven; spoon batter into pan, filling each section one-half full. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
