Followed the recipe almost exactly...minus the pine nuts. My husband loved it!! He wants the leftovers for lunch (w/a fresh tomato).

Really good, very easy. Made to recipe with multicolor orzo except used more broth, less water. Served with CL's Tuscan pork kebabs & Swiss chard. Great presentation, great flavor.

This is in the rotation on almost a weekly basis. Depending on what I'm serving, quite often I don't do anything but toast the orzo and cook in broth/water. When I occasionally do add parm and basil, it's just that much better but for a cheap, easy side, it's not really necessary.

I was so disappointed in this after having read all the rave reviews. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was just BLAND. I wouldn't make this again; there are way better pasta sides out there.

This is a dinner party favorite. I make it all the time and everyone loves it. I've never added the pinenuts, just because they are kind of expensive and I never have them on hand. And I usually don't have the basil, so I'll add a little dried Italian Seasoning instead. I'm sure making it the "real" way would be better, but my little shortcuts work well too. It's always a hit.

Ditto, ditto and ditto! After 61 people rating this with 5 stars, you get an idea that this dish is pretty special! Do use fresh basil...it makes the difference!!! Excellent recipe...nice change from rice and potato!!

Good recipe, nothing spectacular, but better than white rice! I added chopped roma tomatoes as well, served it with tilapia piccata and roasted broccoli with lemon

I love this dish! It's quick, easy and very tasty! I usually serve it with Chicken Italiano.

Thought this was fast and wonderful. Great with steak and broccoli. Fresh basil is a must. Even my picky kids loved it!!

I was really disappointed in this dish. The orzo was completely overcooked and mushy. I followed the recipe exactly. After dinner I read my box of orzo and it called for 7-9 minutes cooking time. I think the 15 minutes called for in the recipe is way too long.

I make this all the time for my family. It goes with every chicken dish practically. It is easy to make and you can pretty much keep all of the ingredients stocked in your pantry. It doesn't go very far with two adults and a toddler, so you might want to at least double if fixing for more than two people.

This dish is out of this world - you need to try it to believe it. But there's no way a 1/2 cup serving will do it.

We really liked this! Used dried basil because I didn't have fresh basil handy. Very creamy and delicious .

One of my go-to side dishes. I fix this at least twice a month because it goes well with so many things. I do add a bit more cheese than calls for. I also make this without the pine nuts and fresh basil in a pinch, adding those two ingredients put it over the top.

cooked for about 10 min and was almost mushy. had to strain it since there was a ton of liquid still in the pan.

Tasty, but the basil was a bit overwhelming, would like to find an herb that I like a little more. I did serve it with the grilled pork chops with shallot butter and it was a nice accompaniment.

Fabulous! I am not a fan of mac & cheese, but this was a grown up, sophisticated version that had me going back for seconds and thirds. Followed the recipe to a T.
