This is truly a delicious lentil soup recipe. The sherry and cream give it a unique, rich flavor. I used 32 ounces of chicken stock instead of water. I am not sure if this influenced the flavor. I also only pureed a portion of the soup in order to maintain some texture. This is a definite addition to my recipe files!

This was an excellent soup. I used all onions instead of the leeks/onion combination, and I used all chicken broth instead of the water/broth combination. I used our immersion blender, which made the pureeing process very simple and fast. Since I'm not terribly concerned about fat and calories, I added a dollop of sour cream along with the crumbled bacon to each bowl just before serving. It was delicious!

Nice soup. Taste good and easy to prepare. I have other lentil soups I like better, so, I will not make again.

Truly delicious! I have made it several times and even served it to guests. I add a little extra salt. Also use my handheld blender to puree. Serve it with a nice crusty bread and a full-flavored hard cheese such as Asiago or Kasseri.

This is a keeper. I did the same thing as the other reviewer. I pureed half of the soup, and added the other half for texture. I have four young children and they all loved it. I couldn't get it into my 9 month olds mouth fast enough. My favorite soup recipe so far from CL.

This soup was simply delicious! I pretty much followed the recipe, except I added a little cheese on top of it. I will definitely be keeping this recipe handy.

This soup was fantastic! I've never had leeks or sherry or used lentils before but I love soup and like to try new foods so I'm glad I didn't pass this one up. I only pureed part of the soup and added extra salt and a bit of cracked pepper. The sherry made a huge difference in the flavor and I'm glad I didn't substitute or leave it out. Served with a crusty roasted garlic bread. I will definitely make this again.
