- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

- 1 cup milk
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup (1 ounce) shredded Cheddar cheese
How to Make It
Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Add pepper and cheese; stir until cheese melts.
