- 1 cup uncooked regular rice
- 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
- 1 quart milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Croutons (optional)
- Green pepper rings (optional)
How to Make It
Combine rice, celery, and milk in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
Gradually stir in chicken broth, salt, and pepper; continue to cook until thoroughly heated. Do not boil. Garnish with croutons or green pepper rings, if desired.
