Cream Filling

Yield about 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup half - and - half
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How to Make It

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in top of a double boiler; place over boiling water. Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add egg yolks; cook, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Chill thoroughly.
