1 3/4 cups peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped tomato

How to Make It
Wash beans; trim ends, and remove strings. Arrange beans in a vegetable steamer over boiling water; cover and steam 10 minutes. Rinse beans under cold water until cool; drain. Set aside.
Combine tomato, broth, ham, and garlic in a large saucepan. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in beans, parsley, thyme, and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes or until beans are tender.
