I made this receipe and did exactly as the directions said. After 15 minutes I began to smell the bacon burning. There is no way this needs to stay in the oven 40-45 minutes. 4-5 maybe. Perhaps there is a typo in the directions? I had the smell of burned bacon in my house all day long.

Msde it this morning for a ladies holiday brunch and they LOVED IT! The cook time is NO typo,you must use THICK slice bacon and drip rack or it will start to burn.

flavor is really good....BUT....i did buy the thick cut bacon, and followed directions exactly...however parts of the bacon really burned to a crisp in less than 30...i guess the bacon i got wasn't 'uniform' in thickness? I'm gonna keep trying!
