Corn Pone

Ingredients

1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk

Preparation

Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into deep hot oil (375°); fry only a few at a time, turning once. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
