Note: Do not make the frosting ahead of time--you need to pour it over the warm cake shortly after baking. To finish, generously top your sheet cake with toasted chopped pecans, chocolate chips, strawberries, or even a scoop of ice cream, if desired.
This is a delicious and moist cake. Since I use unsalted butter for baking, I would add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the cake recipe and an eighth of a teaspoon to the icing. I served it with whipped cream sweetened with brown sugar and a dash of fleur de sel for a sweet and salty topping.
This cake was easy to prepare and was very moist, I should have been much more observant to read to not make the frosting ahead of time because it was not pourable and was much more like a spreadable frosting, nonetheless, the cake turn out well and I would definitely make it again.
Delicious; I did reduce the sugar in the cake to 1 1/2 cups, because of the addition of the marshmellows and I think the next time that I make it, I will only add 1 cup of the marshmellows b/c the frosting is very sweet.
