Ingredients

  • 1 (15-ounce) can chunky garlic-and-herb tomato sauce, divided (such as Hunt's Ready)
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 pound ground round
  • 2/3 cup toasted wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup minced fresh onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Cooking spray

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Combine 1 cup tomato sauce, turkey, and next 8 ingredients (turkey through egg) in a large bowl, and stir until well-blended. Place turkey mixture in an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Brush remaining tomato sauce over top. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove meat loaf from pan. Cut into 12 slices.
