These homemade croutons are flavored with cinnamon and sugar and used as a topping for fruit soup.
This recipe goes with Cranberry-Apple Soup
Yield: 4 cups
- 8 (1/2-inch-thick) French bread slices, cubed
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Place bread cubes in a large zip-top plastic bag; add melted butter. Seal bag, and shake to coat. Combine sugar and cinnamon; add to bag, reseal, and toss well. Arrange cubes on an ungreased baking sheet or jellyroll pan. Bake at 325°, stirring occasionally, for 28 minutes or until crisp and dry.
