Ingredients

  • 5 Gala apples, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange rind

Preparation

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in sugar and orange rind. Remove from heat; mash fruit mixture with a potato masher until chunky.
